Nobody teaches boys
to become husbands.

Raise the Husband, Not Just the Wife — book cover
“Why do we spend so much time preparing girls for marriage while assuming boys will somehow figure out how to become husbands?”
— from the Introduction
This might sound familiar

Picture your son at twenty-eight.

He's married. He loves his wife. He has a good job and people respect him.

But when he comes home, he expects his wife to cook. He leaves his clothes wherever they land. When he's angry, he goes silent for three days. When the kids misbehave, he tells her, "handle them."

He might be a successful man. But is he a good husband?

That scenario opens Chapter One. If any part of it made you wince — that's the book working already.

What's actually inside

A sample of the 65 chapters

Not a summary — the real chapter titles, with what each one is actually trying to get you to see.

Chapter 5

The "Can He?" Test

Ten blunt questions to ask before your son leaves home — can he cook, manage money, apologize, take care of himself? If the honest answer is no, you'll know exactly what's left to teach.

Chapter 6

Housework Is Not a Female Skill

Why "girls wash dishes" quietly teaches both kids something false — and the one sentence that replaces it in a lot of homes.

Chapter 14 & 15

Two Sides of the Same Lesson

Your daughter needs to know "no" is a complete sentence. Your son needs to know rejection isn't disrespect. Most books teach one. This teaches both.

Chapter 36

The Family Responsibility System

A simple rotating chore system you can copy this week — not a lecture about fairness, an actual system.

Chapters 51 & 52

What a Healthy Husband/Wife Looks Like

Not a perfect one. A realistic, specific description of what "good enough and growing" actually looks like on both sides of a marriage.

Chapter 64

The 100-Question Parenting Self-Audit

Sit down with your co-parent and go through it honestly. Most parents find at least ten things they'd never thought to teach.

This book is for you if —

  • You're raising a son and want more for him than "he'll figure it out"
  • You're raising a daughter and want her to know her worth before someone else defines it
  • You want practical systems, not just a philosophy
  • You're willing to look honestly at what you're modeling at home

It's probably not for you if —

  • You want a book that confirms you're already doing everything right
  • You're looking for parenting theory with no practical steps
  • You want a book that says the responsibility only sits with one gender
  • You're not open to changing anything about how your household runs

Who wrote this

Musodiq Akeusola

I wrote this book after watching the same pattern repeat in family after family: daughters raised to run a household, sons raised to succeed at everything except partnership. Neither one is fully prepared for the marriage, or the family, they'll actually end up in. This book is my attempt to close that gap — not by lecturing parents, but by handing them the specific, teachable skills nobody sat either of us down to explain.

Questions

Before you ask

What format is the book in?

A print-ready PDF, 6"×9", the same file used for the physical edition. It opens on any phone, tablet, computer, or e-reader that reads PDFs, and prints cleanly if you'd rather hold a copy.

Is this different from the usual parenting-book advice?

Most books focus on one child or one gender's preparation for adult life. This one treats "raising a good partner" as a skill set taught the same way regardless of whether you're raising a son or a daughter — with specific chapters for both.

Will I actually get the free preview?

Yes — it's sent automatically to the email you enter, from books@digitahubs.com. If it doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check spam, or reply to any email from us and we'll resend it by hand.

Why is the price different on Gumroad and Payhip?

Both are real, legitimate platforms — we simply priced the book slightly lower on Gumroad ($14.90) than Payhip ($29). If you don't have a preference, Gumroad is the better deal. If you already have a Payhip account or prefer their checkout, that works too — you get the identical book either way.

Do you offer refunds?

If the book isn't useful to you, reply to your receipt email within 14 days and we'll refund you — no forms, no argument.

Start with the free chapters.

Read Chapter One, try the "Can He?" test on your own family, and decide from there. That's a fairer trade than asking you to buy first.
